론 빙하지(또는 론 갈체르, Rhone Glacier)는 스위스 어떤 지역의 빙하로서, 스위스 알프스의 중앙에 위치하고 있습니다. 론 빙하지는 발렌스 주(Valais) 지역에 속해 있으며, 특히 홀메코므(Holocene) 시대에 형성된 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 

 론 빙하의 경우, 19세기 말부터 20세기 초까지는 빙하의 증가가 있었으나, 그 이후로는 지속적인 녹음이 관측되었습니다. 

특히 20세기 후반부터 21세기 초까지 기온 상승과 함께 론 빙하도 빠르게 녹아갔습니다. 현재는 빙하위에 흰색천이 씌여져 있는데, 빙하 표면에 덮여 빛을 반사하고 흡수를 제어함으로써 빙하의 녹는 속도를 줄이는 데 목적이 있습니다. 이는 빙하를 보호하고 지속적으로 빙하를 유지하기 위한 녹음 방지 노력의 하나입니다. 

 그 모습은 마치 우리의 간절함을 나타내주는 것만 같습니다. 

 우리는 빙하는 녹을 수 밖에 없는 현실을 알고 있지만, 그리고 거기에 기꺼이 동참하고 있지만, 가만히 목도할 뿐입니다. 

 Rhone Glacier, situated in the heart of the Swiss Alps within the Valais region, has its origins dating back to the Holocene era. 

While the glacier experienced growth from the late 19th century to the early 20th century, relentless melting has been relentlessly documented since. Particularly from the late 20th century to the early 21st century, a swift meltdown ensued, fueled by escalating temperatures. 

Presently, a stark white cloth shrouds the glacier's surface, strategically employed to reflect light and regulate absorption, all in a bid to stem the relentless pace of melting. This is a gritty endeavor aimed at shielding the glacier, a desperate attempt to prolong its existence. 

The glacier, veiled in white, stands as a visual metaphor for our collective desperation. 

 "We acknowledge the harsh reality that glaciers are melting, and while we willingly accept and participate in that reality, we can only stand by helplessly”
